About me and my work

Experience
  • I have achieved the RHS Diploma in Horticulture and have nearly 20 years professional experience in the gardening and horticulture sector. I worked as a lecturer at both Derby College and Nottingham Trent University.
  • I worked for Garden Organic the leading UK organic gardening organisation for over six years providing information, training, advice and workshops.
  • In 2010 I worked as a researcher for the BBC at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I sourced the plants and was the on-location Horticultural researcher for the Spungold production, 'Alan's Garden Secrets'. I worked with Alys Fowler on woven willow plant supports in her 'Edible Garden' programme.
  • I have taught many novice gardeners the knowledge and practical skills that have helped them enjoy and benefit from their own gardening efforts.
Current work
I give talks and presentations to varied audiences –  gardening clubs, allotment holder, WI and many other interested groups.

As a consultant I advise on organic methods and garden design solutions.
